A Quick Way to Clean Up Used Furniture and Decorative Pieces

December 27th, 2009

When you have an entire home to furnish, it is often common to acquire some previously used items. Frequently, we collect a few things from friends and family over the years, and have stuff left over from the last place we lived. Even antiques bought directly from a dealer can fall into this category. When you bring in items to furnish and decorate your new living space, you need to freshen them up first.

One surprising instrument that assists in cleaning your old upholstery, lamp shades and rugs up is the lint roller. Normally, we use this little gadget to spruce up articles from our wardrobe, but luckily it can play more than role, or roll depending how you call it. Use the roller on the used articles prior to bringing them into your new home. Leave the yucky stuff outside, and only bring in the good.
